Applications and Future Prospects of Microwave Technology

This presentation highlights the diverse applications and research developments of microwave technology. The topics include material modification, solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs), microwave-assisted drying of biomass, carbonization and carbon fiber processing, microwave chemistry, plasma generation, and fusion-related heating and energy coupling techniques. With its precise energy control and non-contact characteristics, microwave technology has shown great potential in materials engineering, energy conversion, fusion plasma control, and sustainable processing. The presentation reviews recent progress and practical implementations of microwave-based systems, emphasizing advancements in high-power amplification, carbon material synthesis, biomass treatment, plasma sources, and fusion applications. These developments demonstrate the growing importance of microwave techniques as an enabling platform for both scientific research and industrial innovation in the coming era.
